Avonlea Stor Max-What Do I Need?

Stor Max temperature cables are molded multi-part cables that permanently mount to your bin. A 1" hole must be drilled in the roof of the bin near the top on single drop cables. The cable drops through this hole and should stop about two feet from the floor. The sensor cable must be fastened to the bottom of the bin to prevent migration during filling. The retractable cable has a molded outer skin with a hollow center. The sensing element is removable to allow service to the cable even if the bin is full of grain.

The lead cable runs down the outside of the bin to within three feet of the ground and plugs into the sensor cable at the top of the bin. The temperature information can be read at the bin base or the lead cables can be joined together so multiple bins can be read from one location.

If a large diameter (more than 22’) bin is being monitored, then it is necessary to install multiple cables per bin. When this is done the individual cables are joined together at the top of the bin with short lead cables to a junction box and only one lead is run to the ground.

Avonlea Stor Max-Single Drop Requirements

The components required for a single drop cable per bin are:

      1:
One inside sensor cable assembly. To determine the length required, simply measure the height of your bin from filler cap to floor and subtract 2’. This will be the length of sensor cable required.

      2:
One outside lead cable. To determine the length required, measure the length of the roof and add the side wall height less 3’. This will be the length of lead cable required.

      3:
One docking station. This unit is a grounding system that protects your Stor Max cable from damage when not in use.

Avonlea Stor Max-Multi Drop Requirements

The components required for a multi drop system per bin are:

      1:
Three or four inside sensor cable assemblies (depending on bin diameter). To determine the length required, measure the height of your bin from filler cap to floor and subtract 6’. This will be the length of sensor cable required.

      2:
Three or four interconnect cables. Each of these cables need to be 15’ long and are used to get to one location on the roof.

      3:
Three or four roof support brackets. These are used to spread the download of the cables on the bin roof.

      4:
One three or four way line divider. This is a junction box for the above wiring.

      5:
One outside lead cable. This cable runs from the junction box on the roof to the ground. To determine the length required, measure the length of the roof and add the side wall height less 10’. This will be the length of lead cable required.

      6:
One docking station. This unit is a grounding system that protects your Stor Max cable from damage when not in use.
