Summers Four Rank Superweeder

Besides preparing an excellent seedbed, the 4 ranks of "Vibra" S-tines spaced on 5 in. centers in ranks 16 in. apart provide better clearance in trashy conditions. The hefty 8 in. square tube drawbar provides the strength needed to utilize 4 ranks. An hydraulically actuated Auto-Fold is standard equipment and the 22 ft. tongue with adjustable-height hitch will carry a 500 gal. (U.S.) sprayer. Maximum S-tine depth may be set manually, or adjusted hydraulically with the standard "roll-up/roll-down" hydraulic cylinders.

The heavy duty Superweeder, shown here folded for transport, is available in sizes of 30, 40, 50, 60 and 70 ft.

Four ranks of "Vibra" S-tines dig, break up crusted soil and uproot weeds. Cultivation depth can be set hydraulically for exact depth control. Roll tines up completely for a "harrow only" operation. Heavy duty 5-bar Culti-Harrow sections equipped with the "bent" tooth follow to level and firm. The seedbed is now ready for planting.

A 5 in. S-tine spacing and streamlined underside provide excellent trash clearance. Heavy duty, reinforced lift arms allow on-the-go hydraulic dumping if necessary in extreme conditions. S-tines have adjustable maximum working depths of 1.75, 3.75 and 5 in. Rotating the tines with the hydraulic cylinders will always return them to the same selected depth.

The optional hydraulic depth control system permits raising or lowering the entire drawbar for exact depth control. Both sets of dual, oscillating hitch wheels are raised or lowered with two hydraulic cylinders connected to a rock shaft. All S-tines are raised or lowered at the same time. Due to the hinged wing feature, this option is not available on the 60 and 70 ft. sizes.

S-tine ranks are equipped with hydraulic cylinders to "roll" tines either partially or completely up. Partial retraction can be used for minor depth adjustment while complete S-tine retraction permits the unit to be used as a Culti-Harrow only.

The four-rank Superweeder features a 22 ft. hitch constructed of 4 in. x 8 in. steel tube. This rugged hitch, whether equipped with the optional hydraulic height adjustment or not, can carry a 500 gal. (U.S.) spray system for chemical incorporation. Cable Auto-Fold is standard equipment.

Slave cylinders on the drawbar end wheels operate off of the hitch cylinders. With this system, the drawbar and hitch both are raised or lowered the same distance from the ground.

A heavy-duty ductile cast knuckle permits maximum wing flex for ground contours and also allows the Superweeder to fold easily for transport.

Hydraulically activated cable Auto-Fold releases or locks cables from the tractor seat, eliminating manual cable hook up. A safety spring eliminates accidental release in case of hydraulic pressure failure.
